Etoile Du Midi by Lawrence (Dial Records)

Etoile Du Midi, released May 14th of this year, is the return of Lawrence to Dial. After 4 years without a release on the label, Lawrence comes back with this absolute belter of an EP, and trust me, this vinyl release is sure to keep you moving with it's deep but fun atmosphere.

The first stop on this journey is the title track, a very acidy, bass heavy song with that hi-hat that force you to bop your head... only later to come in with these completely ethereal, almost random sounding synths, building up only to relax straight back into that lovely deep bassline... great listening.

The second track however, Creator, is definitely the one to watch out for... This is one of those songs that when you hear it in a club, you must know what it is, and you can't help but have a good time along to it! The beat is very repetitive and incredibly hypnotic! Like the previous track lawrence has added those beautiful lengthy synths over this bouncey bassline.

Creator (Final Call)... This is simply a beautiful track. It is almost as if Lawrence took the beautiful synth parts of the first 2 tracks and decided to make a song that was completely that... no messing about. No room for childishness... This is quite simply a mature, big boy song. The stabby notes mixed with the tremor of the organs blends perfectly and makes this track a great chill out on for any occassion! (The vocal samples completely top this off!)

I thoroughly recommend this EP, purely just for listening pleasure... It is delightful and should be treated like a voyage by playing it start to finish. Cop this EP!
